Stop the Bleed – February 24, 2022
Stop the Bleed® is an educational program that represents the current “best practice” recommendations for how to manage life-threatening bleeding situations. Join us for our February Lunch & Learn with Story County Sherriff’s Deputy Christian and learn these best practices.
The course was designed to teach people how to recognize and control life-threatening hemorrhage. This course does not contain graphic clinical photos or videos, but the slides will allow us the opportunity the group to discuss bleeding emergencies and what can be expected when someone encounters these types of scenarios. The training will consist of a 20-30 min PowerPoint and then another 20-30 min practical application where participants get to practice the skills we discussed on life-like props.
We’ll also learn about community outreach programs the SCSO has: P3 campus, active shooter training, BMAP training, Citizens Academy, etc.
